The ‘One Department, Three Schools’ development layout has been established, injecting new vitality into international education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.On 19 September 2023, the 2023-2024 Academic Year Work Report and Exchange Meeting of the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students was held at the main campus of Jinan University. Hong An, Vice President of Jinan University, Liang Yan, Director of the Office of External Relations, Hou Hongwei, Director of the Office of Basic Education, Cai Gengtai, General Manager of Jinan Education Investment and Development Company, Deng Qiangguang, Chairman of the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students, Dong Xuyuan, Vice Chairman, Tan Rixu, Principal of the Guangzhou School, Lai Binghua, Principal of the Dongguan School, Zhang Ye, Principal of the Foshan School, Chen Hongwei, Principal of the Affiliated Experimental School of Jinan University, and Wang Yanyan, Principal of the Jinan University Kindergarten, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Hou Hongwei, Director of the Basic Education Office of Jinan University. The Affiliated Schools of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students in Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Foshan reported on their work for the 2022-2023 academic year and exchanged ideas on how to build an efficient working mechanism of ‘coordinated development, group empowerment, foundation building and quality improvement, and brand leadership’ to promote the high-quality development of ASJ's ‘one door, three schools’ model.
Address by Vice President Hong An of Jinan University Vice President Hong An of Jinan University affirmed the achievements of the three schools since their establishment. This year, the first batch of senior high school graduates from the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Guangzhou) achieved impressive results, which is a good start and cause for celebration. As the first Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students, the Guangzhou school has conducted many useful explorations in terms of curriculum system, teacher training, and quality education, and has accumulated successful experience. The establishment of the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Dongguan) has effectively promoted exchanges and integration among young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Its English teaching concept is unique and needs to be sustained. As the new member of the ‘one family, three schools’ programme, the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Foshan) can learn from the successful experiences of the above two schools, continue to deepen the exploration of new models for the integrated development of basic education in the three places, and guide students to develop in all aspects. Vice President Hong proposed that the ‘one department, three schools’ of JINAN University in Hong Kong and Macao need to communicate more, through resource sharing, complementary teaching and research advantages, and coordinated development. They also need to think diligently and learn quickly, integrating the educational philosophy and culture of JINAN University into daily education and teaching, and fully reflecting ‘The Tradition of JINAN University.’
Address by Ms. Liang Yan, Director of the Office of External Relations, Jinan University Liang Yan, Director of the Office of External Relations at Jinan University, highly praised the pioneering spirit and willingness to explore of the Jinan University Hong Kong and Macao Students' School. She said that the founding of each school was a difficult journey, but each time they created miracles. In the future, she hopes that the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students will move towards integration, systematisation and scale, adhere to the development positioning of ‘The Tradition of JINAN University, The Vision for The Greater Bay Area, The Characteristics of Hong Kong And Macao’, carry on the century-old tradition of excellent education of Jinan University, and contribute to the integration and development of education in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and the improvement of basic education in the Greater Bay Area.

Speech by Deng Qiangguang, Chairman of the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students Deng Qiangguang, Chairman of the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students, said that since 2021, he has been particularly grateful for the care and guidance of Jinan University. It is with the support of JNU's high-quality educational resources that the Affiliated Schools of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students in Guangzhou and Dongguan were established. This year, with the successful unveiling and opening of the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Foshan), a new pattern of ‘one family, three schools’ has been formally established for JNU's Hong Kong and Macao students. Over the past few years, the Guangzhou and Dongguan schools have made many efforts in areas such as curriculum systems, cultural integration, and talent exchange. The Foshan school should draw on their strengths and continue to deepen its exploration, aiming for resource sharing and collaborative development among the ‘one gate, three schools’ model. This will gradually forge a unique international education path with Jinan University's distinctive characteristics, contributing to the cultivation of high-quality talent for the nation.
