The Primary Years prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child and aims to create a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant for learners.

我们的课程设置充分考虑学⽣的个⼈学习需要。我们期望通过⿎励，提⾼学⽣对学习的积极性与好奇⼼，培养他们的⾃主学习能⼒，并使他们成为⽆惧挑战的探险家。与此同时，我们⿎励学⽣尊重⾃⼰和他⼈，提倡有意义的学习。

As children learn at different places with different learning styles and needs, one of the goals of ASJ is to ensure that learning is developmental and age appropriate. We aim to help all students to become enthusiastic learners by encouraging them to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to take risks, try out ideas and develop their own approaches to learning. Our students are encouraged to demonstrate respect for themselves and others and take meaningful action as the result of their learning.

We offer a trans-disciplinary approach to learning, the subjects of Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, and Physical Education are woven into the Units of Inquiry through their strands and concepts. This approach enables students to explore subjects in depth, in context and in relation to the real world, which promotes conceptual understanding and encourages students to take action.
