Good News | Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Guangzhou) was awarded the Excellent Case of Trade in Services in the province!On the afternoon of 2 September, the Guangdong Theme Day of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2023, hosted by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and organised by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, was held in Beijing. At the meeting, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province released 11 excellent cases of trade in services in 2023, covering a number of important areas such as digital technology, industrial design, cultural trade and so on. Among them, Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Guangzhou) won the ‘2023 Guangdong Outstanding Case Study on Service Trade’ for its innovative exploration of taking the Hong Kong curriculum as the core, national education as the foundation, using IB curriculum concepts throughout teaching and learning, and adopting the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) curriculum in senior secondary education to provide students with diversified pathways for further study in the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas, and to promote the construction of the model area of international education in the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area. Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Guangzhou) is the first School of for Hong Kong and Macao Students in response to the policy spirit of the ‘Outline of the Plan for the Development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’. is organised under the background of the ‘dual-region driving’ effect of the Greater Bay Area and the Pilot Demonstration Area, and is established under the guidance of the centuries-old famous university Jinan University. ASJ adheres to the schooling philosophy of Jinan University's original colours, the background of the Bay Area, and the characteristics of Hong Kong and Macao. Jinan University provides ASJ with all-round guidance and support for teachers, teaching, training and further education, helping the school to build an international curriculum system with Chinese characteristics, and practising a connected cultivation model from kindergarten to university.  The establishment of ASJ not only provides education protection for the children of Hong Kong and Macao people living in the Mainland, but also builds a bridge between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, which can attract more Hong Kong and Macao talents to start their business and employment in Guangzhou, and accelerate the two-way intermingling of young talents in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area. Earlier, ASJ was awarded the ‘Best Practice Case’ of the State Council's Pilot Project on Deepening the Innovative Development of Trade in Services in 2022, the Future Star of China's Internationalised Schools, and other honours, and the work of ASJ has been hailed as the ‘Guangzhou Model’ to be promoted across the country. Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students (Guangzhou), as one of the ‘Excellent Cases of Trade in Services in Guangdong in 2023’, will earnestly implement the spirit of the ‘Outline of the Development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’, and actively co-operate with the education reform and innovation of the education authorities of the country, Guangdong Province, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and do a good job of building up its own curriculum, and innovate its mode of talent cultivation. We will also improve the level of school operation and upgrade the hard and soft conditions of the campus in order to introduce more and better resources to help the families and students of Hong Kong and Macao children. |
