House Program|哈利波特同款学院制，培养ASJ学生的“破圈力”

The House Program is frequently mentioned in films and television works. It specifically refers to a community in the campus that is different from the School Community and the Class Community. It has gone beyond the literal meaning of "residency and house" and become an important educational concept.

How to let students break invisible barriers between grades, enhance cross-grade communication with students in other grades and experience more colourful campus life? ASJ teachers finally confirmed the effect of the House Program and ASJ students have been already randomly assigned to four distinctive Houses. all members will certainly integrate into their Houses and show their self-values.

In ASJ, each house represents different characteristics and themes and there will be great peer relations among students studying at different grade levels. The senior students are not only role models that provide learning and inspiration to the junior students, but caregivers to give warmth and care to junior students as well, creating long-term positive impact.

In addition, ASJ's Houses include both students and faculty from different departments. Therefore, Houses are platforms for students of different grades to help one another and give students more personalized care by providing a higher teacher-student ratio. Belonging to the same house, students can make new friends and grow positively. Moreover, students may express themselves more actively after they experienced the ASJ positive culture and spirit.

In the near future, House Program will be applied in sports events and daily activities. Members are welcome to come up with innovative ideas to create a harmonious community atmosphere. Moreover, students will be rewarded for their daily excellent performance and positive contribution to ASJ, and their house will receive rewards too. The competitions among different houses can modify students' behaviours, develop students' team spirit, organizational ability and leadership, giving students a strong sense of identity, a strong sense of belonging and a strong sense of honor as well. It is confirmed that students will develop physically and mentally and form independent and positive personalities with the help of House Program.

Confucius has a famous saying: " Let his words be sincere and truthful and his actions honorable and careful - such conduct may be practiced among the rude tribes of the South or the North. If his words be not sincere and truthful, and his actions not honorable and careful, will he, with such conduct, be appreciated, even in his neighborhood? " The content includes the supreme characteristics that a person should have, which is the origin of Jinan University's motto "Loyalty, Sincerity, Integrity and Respect".

Positioning “The tradition of Jinan University, The vision for the Greater Bay Area, The characteristics of Hong Kong and Macao” and holding the belief of “Looking up at the stars, Overlooking the earth, Source of all creatures”, the Affiliated School of Jinan University for HongKong and Macao Students set up four Houses with the name “Loyalty”, “Sincerity”, “Integrity” and “Respect” and members will work as a team to create more values.

The background colour of "Loyalty" House is red representing the national color. House’s mascot is the national treasure giant panda and the members of "Loyalty" House are the "loyal" students of ASJ. They are active and enthusiastic, showing their loyalty and dedication to the country and the nation.

Representative characteristics: Sincerity, Honesty, Morality, Authenticity

The background colour of "Sincerity" House is the green representing vibrancy and creatures. House’s mascot is the "Goddess of the Yangtze River" Baiji Dolphin and the members of "Sincerity" House are the "honest" students of ASJ. Being sincere and honest, they work as the pursuers of truth and the practitioners of morality.

Representative characteristics: Integrity, Determination, Concentration

The background colour of "Integrity" House is yellow representing Earth that breeds life. House’s mascot is the "Plateau Elf" Tibetan antelope and the members of "Integrity" House are the "determined" students of ASJ. They have brave and confident posture and are calm and positive even in the face of difficulties.

Representative characteristics: Respect, Seriousness, Cautiousness

The background colour of "Respect" House is blue representing the all-embracing sky. House’s mascot is the "Folk National Bird" Red-crowned cranes and the members of the “Respect” House are the "respectful" students of ASJ. They respect every person and every affair with modest and serious attitudes and are lively, elegant and generous.

The First Sports Festival of the Affiliated School of Jinan University for HongKong and Macao Students “ASJ's Olympic Legends - Race and Sports” will be held from November 17 to 19, 2021. This is the first time that ASJ students take part in competition as members of different Houses. ASJ students will definitely carry forward the spirit of sports competition, and strive towards the glory of "the Best House"!
